Juveniles and the Death Penalty is a publication from the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention and addresses the death penalty being applied to juveniles. Before the United States Supreme Court found that sentencing a minor to death was in violation of the Eighth Amendment to the Constitution various states made no distinction between minors and adults. This publication provides a brief history of the juvenile death penalty and how it was implemented.
