Sentence of Death, 18 U.S.C. § 3591

Section 18 U.S.C. § 3591 authorizes the sentence of death for certain Federal crimes.  This section of the U.S. Code grants the appropriate Federal agencies the power to seek the death penalty for the offenses stated within.  This law is of utmost importance in death penalty research, in that if an offence is not listed in this section, then the death penalty does not apply.
