Oversight of the Federal Death Penalty

Oversight of the Federal Death Penalty is the official record on the 2001 hearing before the Subcommittee on the Constitution in the United States Senate.  The purpose of the hearing was to address controversial changes by the Justice Department on the protocol for capital cases.  Most notably, the changes required the Attorney Generals approval before entering a plea arrangement that would take the death penalty off the table.  This is an essential source for it provides insight on the Attorney General's stance on the death penalty when there is a pro-capital punishment administration.
